Creasing varies from person to person, shoe to shoe, and even foot to foot because it so dependent on width and length differences between shoe foot, and some people have a variance between left foot and right foot.

Creasing in the captoe happens to some and not others, even on shell cordovan footwear.

However, odd creasing may also be a sign of sizing incorrectly. If the shoe is a size too big there will be creasing where your toes start, as normal, and further up towards the toe because of the longer unnecessary length. On the other hand, if it too short the creases will be pushed closer to the toe because obviously your toes are further up than they are supposed to be.

I never had a crease develop in the toe box of any shoe, let alone after one wearing. I emailed AE asking for an exchange and included some pictures. I received an email from customer service agreeing to the exchange and a pre paid shipping label to send the shoes back the same day. I guessing that whichever brand that is, you have a fitment and/or issue with that last, so I go to the store where you bought them (if in person) and get another fitting or consider return for a different last style if you can. In other words raise your foot slightly as if you were going to take a step, your toes should be on the ground and the rest of your foot elevated. The part of your foot where an angle forms between the flat sitting of the toes and elevation of your foot is where the creases will be on the shoe.

In this case it looks like you jamming your foot into the ground in the final parts of taking a step and that causing a crease to form ahead of where it should. Take lighter steps and it should be fine.
