Spent several of the intervening years working in the Middle East. His family tentacles spread far and wide: wife Annette was Mayor of Palmerston, son Sam works for John Elferink and is married to CLP up and comer Lia Finnochiaro.

Indonesian company Japfa Santori raised eyebrows when they bought two of the Territory best known cattle stations, Inverway and Riveren. Warren is the company Australian director who negotiated the deal and is responsible for their operation.

Director of Gwelo, almost finished building the massive Soho Apartments on Woods Street and ranks as one of Darwin biggest property developers.

One of the Coleman printing family, Justin is the president of the local Australian Hotels Association and a successful publican. Plays in influential company, co owns a horse with the Chief Minister.

The relationship between Rio Tinto backed company Energy Resources of Australia CEO Ms Sutton and Gundjeihmi Aboriginal Corporation CEO Mr O has been strained by the Ranger spill, but both have the power to make or break one of the Territory biggest remaining projects.

37: Alison Anderson

Now shouting from the sidelines, there would be many who would argue that Anderson power has vanished. But we said that before, haven we? Neither party will win a majority at the 2016 election unless they unable to weaken Anderson grip on the bush. Has been much higher on this list, but his influence is fading now the INPEX project has passed the halfway point. Still well regarded in the Top End.

The most difficult figure to place on the entire list. By rights, an Opposition backbench senator should be much lower. But the Olympic gold medallist has the ear of the national media and could stake a claim for a higher spot. Is finding her feet in the world of politics and seems both genuine and popular.
