Two dozen people hoping to raise at least $100,000 for local nonprofit groups will run the Boston Marathon as part of Brookline next month. The townwide team will raise money for the Brookline Education Foundation, the Brookline Library Foundation, the Brookline Teen Center, and the Brookline Community Health Center. Colin Wilkins, a reference and emerging technologies librarian for the town, is one of the runners participating in the marathon on April 15 in hopes of raising about $25,000 for the Brookline Library Foundation. Other runners include Matthew Cooney and Paul Epstein, the executive director and founder, respectively, of the Brookline Teen Center. Sidhu Gangadharan, the chief of thoracic surgery and interventional pulmonology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, will run on behalf of the Brookline Education Foundation; and Josh Eagle, a clinical psychologist at the Brookline Community Mental Health Center, will run on behalf of the center Brookline Resilient Youth Team.
