Well, it’s been three weeks since my son got his mitchell brace and it’s already broken! The middle strap, the most important strap, broke last night so my husband fashioned a half strap half watch band to get us through the day.

The brace shop can "repair" the suede strap with an appointment at their Phila office (40 mins away), or send it into Phila to get repaired and be back in 5 DAYS!!!! He’s supposed to be in it 23 hours a day!!!

It’s just that their feet are so tiny, they can slip out of those shoes! Also, over time, the parts of the legs and ankle that are bound by the shoes begin to shrink a bit, so you have to pull the straps tighter and tighter. I got your message I don’t think his foot slipping has to do with stiffness returning. I just think those shoes can be tricky and we also have to deal with their incredible shrinking ankles!

I just try to make sure Kara’s feet are completely flat, her heels are down, and flush with the soles of the shoes. Then I pull the straps as tight as they will go without cutting off circulation.
